I love movies, almost all things 90s, and ranked lists so this had to happen eventually. It was inevitable. Here it is, my favorite 25 movies from my favorite decade.

#25 – First Knight (1995)

Knights. Swords. Camelot. Sean Connery? Yes.

#24 – Emma (1996)

The role Gwyneth was born to play.

#23 – A Few Good Men (1992)

One of the only movies that I stop to watch anytime I come across it on t.v. I must watch through to the end!

#22 – The Little Rascals (1991)

So many great lines…plus, The He-Man Woman Haters Club.

#21 – The Man Who New Too Little (1997)

A lesser known Bill Murray film of mistaken identity and hijinks.

#20 – The Wedding Singer (1998)

Sandler tones down the goofy antics to give a great self-deprecating and wryly satisfying romantic comedy. Great soundtrack and plenty of one-liners.

#19 – The Mask (1994)

If it’s possible the zany Jim Carrey unleashes his overacting to a greater degree. Manic and fun.

#18 – Hook (1991)

Dustin Hoffman as Capt. Hook is the prime attraction in a classic movie.

#17 – I.Q. (1994)

Meg Ryan’s second best romantic comedy, the supporting cast is quirky and fun.

#16 – What About Bob? (1991)

I could have gone Groundhog Day instead but I like Murray as affable and clueless versus mean and cynical.

#15 – Braveheart (1995)

Hard not to love this one. Epic feels like the right word. Inspiring.

#14 – Aladdin (1992)

The music numbers. Robin Williams. This was my very first ever movie seen at a drive in movie.

#13 – Tombstone (1993)

Val Kilmer is gold in this must-see western. “I’m your huckleberry.”

#12 – The Truman Show (1998)

A more dramatic turn for Jim Carrey and he nails it. Deeper questions if predeterminism and free will keep me coming back.

#11 – Empire Records (1995)

I mean come on, it’s about working at a record store while growing into adulthood.

#10 – Tommy Boy (1995)

Rare is the rapport that David Spade and Chris Farley shared. Comedy abounds.

#9 – The Newsies (1992)

Critics didn’t love it and it bombed at the theater but I have a soft spot for this musical. Accent aside, Christian Bale does pretty well in the lead role.

#8 – Toy Story (1995)

Some like part 2 better but I return to the original one most often. I identify with the threatened Woody on so many levels.

#7 – The Sandlot (1993)

I was gifted a copy of this movie after my high school baseball accident. I loved it immediately and have ever since.

#6 – Oscar (1991)

It’s a lesser known Sly Stallone gangster era screwball comedy. The pacing is dizzying the first time you watch but it only gets funnier the more you see it.

#5 – The Matrix (1999)

I toyed with the idea of making this my number one of the decade. A true sci-fi classic.

#4 – You’ve Got Mail (1998)

Meg Ryan at her peak powers of lovable and feisty. Hanks and Ryan have near unparalleled chemistry.

#3 – While You Were Sleeping (1995)

As far as romantic comedies go, Sandra Bullock never did better. I watch this once at least once or twice a year. She is perfect for the girl-next-door-type.

#2 – That Thing You Do (1996)

Hard not to love this coming-of-age-story of the quick rise and fall of a one-hit wonder band.

#1 – Dumb & Dumber (1994)

The only movie that eclipses this one in watches or quotes is The Princess Bride. So funny.

What are your favorites?! I’d love to hear from you!
